On Demographics, Growth and Investing When the Structural Collides with the Cyclical
We invite you to join us for our monthly luncheon on Thursday, November 8th at the Queen City Club at 12:00 p.m. The presentation will be given by Harris Kere, CFA, Macro Strategist at Aegon Asset Management.
We look forward to seeing you there,
Board of Directors
CFA Society of Cincinnati
About the Presentation
Boosted by recent fiscal policy, GDP growth is experiencing cyclical strength, but it seems as though the economy has been relegated to a low-growth trajectory relative to prior trends. As it turns out, longer term prosperity is ultimately determined by deep-seated, secular phenomena; namely, demographics and productivity. Because demographics change slowly over time, the potential effects on growth may be reliably forecast. Can understanding demographic changes reveal the likelihood of returning to 3% trend growth? Join us as D. Harris Kere, CFA, an investment strategist, answers this question and others, and discusses what happens when structural changes collide with cyclical swings.
