Membership Types

CFA Cincinnati offers several membership options to meet your individual circumstance. Regular membership is generally best suited for investment professionals who are pursuing or have obtained the CFA Charter or CIPM certificate, while Affiliate membership is best suited for those who do not meet the eligibility requirements of regular membership or do not intend to participate in the CFA Program of the CIPM Program.  We also offer special rates to students and retired members.

Regular Membership

To be a Regular member, the applicant must meet the following CFA Institute eligibility guidelines:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent education/work experience
  • A passing score for the Level I CFA Exam, CIPM Program Level II Exam, RBA Netherlands Exam, or the self-administered Standards of Practice Exam
  • Cost: $299 for CFA Institute, $100 for CFA Society Cincinnati

Affiliate Membership

To be an Affiliate member, the applicant must have:

  • One year of Acceptable Professional Work Experience; or
  • Have passed Level I of the CFA Program or a self-administered standards of professional practice examination in a format established and approved by the CFA Institute Board of Governors
  • Cost:  $299 for CFA Institute, $100 for CFA Society Cincinnati

Retired Membership

To be a Retired member, the applicant must have elected Retired membership status with the CFA Institute.

  • Cost:  $100 for the CFA Institute, $75 for CFA Society Cincinnati

Student Membership

Any full-time student of an accredited college or university may become a Student member of the CFA Society Cincinnati.

  • Cost:  $15
